From south on SH1

Drive through the main street of Kaitaia towards Cape Reinga. The Wayfarer Motel is the first motel on your right. Look out for the flag poles.

From north and Bay of Islands

Drive through the main street of Kaitaia towards Whangarei. The Wayfarer Motel is on your left once you reach the shops and restaurants (2 doors down from KFC).

Kaitaia is a 1.5 hour drive north of the Bay of Islands in Northland, New Zealand. From Kaitaia drive 15 minutes to the start of 90 Mile Beach (Ahipara), 1.5 hours to Cape Reinga, 1.5 hours to Waipoua Forest (Tane Mahuta) and 5 hours south to Auckland.

Kaitaia offers shops, restaurants and a bus service for travellers.
